“The last one I bought was over 10 years old, and even though it had 'boy shorts' it was still a little bit too short at the bottom, so I decided to have a look for something longer on the legs in terms of material. I don't really like being looked at when out and about (especially with most swimsuits going right up to your crotch!!), so I wanted something that didn't ride up at the bottom when I'm trying to exit the pool, as well as something that didn't make me feel totally self-conscious!
This swimsuit has been absolutely perfect in every single way. It allows me to focus on the actual sport of swimming rather than think about how awkward I feel in front of everyone, or whether anyone is looking at me and my tiny, tiny swimsuit (this one, god forbid, is actually THE PERFECT size). I've worn it a few times now (new gym membership haha!), and it's so beautiful - my favourite colours are pink, purple and blue anyway - and it makes me look sooooo good, without feeling self-conscious at all given that I feel properly clothed when I swim LOL. The cut-away hole at the back just makes it look even better - there's no awkward shifting of the material, it doesn't droop or pull even with long exposure to water.
There are no fiddly padded cups (I hate those things), but there's an additional sewn-on panel inside (a bit like a bra but without the cups) for a little bit more support. No restriction in movement of the arms or legs whatsoever. I think my swimming's actually improved because of how confident I feel when I wear this swimsuit!! A bit awkward to get into at first, but then I always have trouble with these things anyway, and it fits like an absolute glove once it's on.
